OOTD: Eggsellent Adventures

Happy Easter everyone!

This year my birthday weekend just happens to fall over Easter. Yay me an extra 2 days to celebrate.

I usually have a whole week of celebrations, regardless of whether it’s a ‘special’ birthday or not. Any reason to go out and be social is good enough for me!

I also have 4 months of making up to do in England. So they’ll be a few new places I’ll be experimenting with as well as hitting up some of my favourite old ones.

I’m currently on my way to Bournemouth for a night with my besties.

Today’s outfit:

*Top: New Look *Coat: Prinark Waistcoat: Wearall *Jeans: Topshop *Shoes: Converse *Sunglasses: Rayban *

Don’t be deceived by the sun its still chilly! I’m taking my coat as a safe bet, it’s always much colder by the sea .

Tomorrow I have a bottomless brunch booked at One Canada Square in Canary Wharf and for bank holiday Sunday were back at one of the famous Essex hubs: Faces.

Keep your eyes peeled for a Bournemouth and brunch post :o)

What are your plans over this weekend?

Nike unveils England’s new kit at Wembley

Its official, the New England football kit is here!

IMG_9970Last week at Wembley Stadium, American brand Nike unveiled the new home and away kits that our England stars will be donning for the Euros 2016.

The Press Launch included an array of activities on the night including a Q and A panel hosted by RinseFM. The panel, made up of England and Manchester City stars Steph Houghton (Team Captain), Toni Duggan (Winger/Forward), Joe Hart (Goalkeeper) and Physio Steve Kemp, covered the importance of on and off pitch training and heavily focused on the topics of nutrition and recovery.
‘Gone are the days where you get to the ground and have to do 60 laps on the pitch’ Tony answers, when asked if running is implemented in training. Instead, the whole panel confessed that Yoga is a popular activity amongst the players; a vital part of the recovery process that benefits both the body and mind.Yet your mats out everyone!

Spring Trends 2016

So the run of the fashion weeks finally came to a close last week, finishing in none other than Europes favourite romantic country. Paris may not have brought the sunshine but it definitely brought the style.

Here are three key trends in early 2016 that are sure to put a ‘spring’ in your step.

The Oscars 2016: Best Dressed

So the time has been and gone again, where the most sought after stars in showbiz step out in their glamorous gowns to battle it out for the title of the ‘Red Carpets best dressed.’

The Oscars 2016 will undoubtedly go down in history as the day Leonardo Di Caprio was finally recognised for his talent.

But more importantly, let’s talk about the glitz & glamour that was out in full force last night and let’s see who topped my Academy Awards best dressed list!

Don’t forget to have your say and comment your opinions below.

— Sexy —

Charlize Theron wowed as the lady in red in a simplistic yet striking gown.

The plunging neck line and open back cut showed off her stunning figure, while the glamorous train at the back added class to this sexy look.

— Stunning —

Cate Blanchett donned in an Armani teal coloured number that complimented her naturally pale skin tone.  The clusters of petals and feathers of this piece add a 3D texture to the simplistic design, while the crystals and metallic overlay creates a mermaid feel; bringing back happy childhood memories of watching The Little Mermaid.

— Sultry —

Jennifer Lawrence proves that black can be anything but boring in this fiery number that fits perfectly on her envious physique.

While the daringly exposed upper lace bodice doesn’t leave much to the imagination, the feathery, floor length bottom adds an element of fairytale glamour with its black swan design.

The contrasting textures of the dress compliment each other perfectly while raising obvious questions on how Jennifer wants her choice of fashion to be perceived.

— Sophisticated —

Lady Gaga is famed for her unique fashion decisions and the Oscars 2016 is no exception.

Why choose between a suit and a gown when you can have the best of both worlds right Gaga?

This fresh white strapless jumpsuit/gown ensemble adds a 21st century twist to dressing for success. While the colour adds innocence and angelic physiologies, the design proves that women can in fact sport the famous power suit without losing their femininity.

Who was on your best dressed list for the Oscars 2016?

Valentines look

So after 2 and a half months of no make up or hair styling, I thought it was about time I made some effort, especially as it was my first valentines with Liam!
Unfortunately, travelling is not the most glamorous and I am very limited, but I finally put the make up that I brought out here and have never used to good use!

Here’s my natural valentines look..

before and after

Make up

I got a few cheap bits before I came out here or used make up I had already, just so that I could use/throw it away if need be. Some of it has really surprised me and I think I’ll be rebuying!

 1. Seventeen CC cream in medium

2. Seventeen on the spot concealer

3/4 Seventeen contour kit: light and bronze

5. Revlon brow pencil

6. Benefit Dallas blush

7.strawberrt lip balm

8. Maybelline volume X-press mascara

I started with CC cream. I absolutely love this one this everyday for work back home in England. It’s a factor 25, so great for protecting your skin.

It works as a great base/primer or you can wear it on its own. It evens out your complexion and gives a natural tan matte look.

Next I applied the concealer. I’m not the biggest fan of this. It’s dewy and wet which I think affects it ability to cover, but hey it’s all I have for now.

Luckily I had the light contour powder to dust over the top of my eyes to lighten the eye bags. I love this kit! It’s the only mirror I own too which is really helpful. This one will be on my repurchase list.

I then applied the light powder to my T zone, chin and upper lip

With the bronzing powder I dusted just under the cheekbone to my temples, the sides of my nose, the skin around my hairline and my jaw bones.

With a final brush of Dallas blush under the cheekbones sweeping up to the temples

After the face I did my eyebrows.

I will post an eyebrow tutorial separately when I return from travelling, so that I can use proper a proper brow kit. You are limited with a pencil, even though it’s still possible to achieve a relatively good look.

I finished the look with a coat of mascara and some lip balm

After throwing on my dress and some sparkly sandals, here’s the final product..

I bought this dress for $3 from a stall near Bayon Temple. What do you think?

A dragon and a tropical thunderstorm

I have no wifi in our new cool hut were staying in in Kanchanburi. But lots of stuff to come.

Thursday was our last day and night in Bangkok. We’d done lots of the tourist attractions already so we decided to have a wander and see where we end up.
We was talked into a river cruise which included a view of Wat Pho temple amongst other things so we thought why not?
After bahtering down from 1000 to 700 each, off we went.

We even see (what I think was) a Kimodo Dragon just chilling on the side.. I’d only ever seen one enclosed in a zoo before so seeing a wild one was amazing.

Cruising through the shanti towns was a real reflection and culture off the lifestyle in the land of smiles and it really hit home. A small house was for sale for 100,000baht. Just over £1800. Someone’s whole life is worth that it’s crazy. Especially when you pay at least 200,000 for a 1 bedroom flat in london, and I’ve save up 8x more than that in a year to travel the world.

This is exactly the reason I wanted to travel in the first place, to make my mind richer and really appreciate what I have. I am surrounded by such wonderful people that have a fraction of what most of us westerners do yet all I do is moan! So I am really going to try to stop on my return, though I think it’ll be hard ha.

I had a pretty chilled night as we had to catch a 7am bus to a fun packed day in Kanchanburi. I decided to take a walk through Koh San Road market and grab some rehydration salts from the pharmacy. I’ve unfortunately been feeling a bit crappy since I arrived, probably due to the change in climate etc. I also purchased these lovely elephant shorts..

Do you like them?
On my way home I was caught in a huge tropical rainstorm and ducked for cover. I was stranded under a small roof for about 20 minutes before taking the plunge and running just over the road to maximise my time and get a Chicken Yellow Curry – it was so good! It also made sense not to walk home super wet and make myself more I’ll.

I wonder how long it will take me to become sick of rice and noodles? We’ll see ha

Afternoon Tea at the Marriott Hotel

To celebrate National Afternoon Tea week last week, I headed over to the Marriott hotel for a sophisticated birthday celebration for one of the important older ladies in my life.   I have to say, there was a time when the image of afternoon tea consists of a group of 60 year olds sitting in a circle sipping cups of tea and pointing their pinky finger out, while discussing current affairs. These days it is hard to find a hotel around London that DOESNT do afternoon tea. It’s become something of a craze, is our generation swapping the vodka for earl grey?  Now one of the questions that are always on my mind for this sort of thing is what do you wear? This can be a tricky one. Whilst you want to dress up for this occasion, I dare say mini skirts and stilettos are a good choice for these sorts of places. Bearing in mind that these hotels are 4-5 star establishments, the safe bet is to go for a smart-casual look.
