John Freida Flyaway Tamer

Theres nothing that annoys me more than crazy stray away hairs.

When i was 7, i got one of those cheap glittery rolly brushes (that you get in those girly barbie type hair packs) stuck in my hair. If i can teach you anything in life, it would be to never buy one of these things for your daughter. Its scarred me for life.

As an outcome I had to rip front strands of my hair out. It was heartbreaking, not to mention painful, and to no surprise it has never grown back. Now 17 years later, these stray away crazy bits are a constant nuisance in my daily routine.Hair is after all, a very big deal for girls.

Anyway more to the point. Recently I came across the John Freida flyaway tamer.

You use this on your dry, styled hair. Simply brush the wand across the flyaway hairs!

It definitely does what it says on the tin! My hair appeared more tamed and neat after use.

My only critique is that it gave my hair a more greasy look. However this appeared to dry out 10 minutes after.

I would definitely recommend this product, perfect for the handbag. You can grab yourself one from super drug, boots, or 3 of them on Amazon for under £7!

5 reasons to love Green Tea

Green tea originated from China and has been used as a medicine for many years. Its been known to have multiple health benefits, and it’ll be rare to find a nutritionist that doesn’t swear by adding this detox tea to a healthy lifestyle. Unfortunately approximately 80% of our population are still big black tea drinkers. Here’s 5 reasons to consider going Green..

  1. This brew helps combat diseases

Green tea is made from un-oxidized leaves and is one of the less processed types of tea. The antioxidants and beneficial polyphenols it contains help to cleanse our bodies.

These detoxifying substances protect cells and molecules which can reduce the formation of free radicals in the body. Free radicals are known to play a role in all sorts of diseases.

2. It zaps fat and increases energy

The polyphenol found in green tea enhances fat burning and boosts your metabolic rate, meaning that food and calories are broken down quicker. Additionally, in one study in 10 healthy men, green tea increased energy expenditure by 4%

Who doesn’t want to be more toned with more energy right?

3. It’s a cuppa that keeps you pretty

Green tea can apparently help with wrinkles and signs of aging!

Ever wondered why so many skincare products contain green tea extract? This is because their antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities help inhibit free radicals from breaking down collagen, the protein in our skin that keeps us looking young.

Both animal and human studies have also demonstrated that green tea applied topically can reduce sun damage.

4. Its a beverage that could make you savvy

The key active ingredient is a small amount of natural caffeine, which is a known stimulant to improve brain function. Caffeine has been intensively studied before and consistently leads to improvements in various aspects of brain function, including improved mood, vigilance, reaction time and memory. Specifically, green tea drinkers showed increased connectivity in key parts of the brain associated with memory.

5. Going green can help with those pearly whites

  • Cavities – Green tea is anti-bacterial, it may help reduce bacteria and acid in the mouth.
  • Gums – Green tea’s anti-inflammatory substance can aid in controlling gum disease.
  • Tooth Loss – A study in the Journal of Periodontology showed that green tea may markedly reduce enamel loss.
  • Oral Cancer – Not only has green tea been linked to helping prevent breast and prostate cancer, but may slow the progression of oral cancer as well.
  • Smelly breath – Bacteria and other microbes make our breath smell, errr. Green tea’s anti-bacterial properties fight stinky bacteria too! Winning.

For me it’s a no brainer really. I choose to be healthy and youthful..pass me the Twinings.

Monday’s are for Positive Purple

Hi Everyone

I hope you’re all having a wonderful Monday!

I’m flying high this morning with these beautiful berry nails.. Do you like the colour?

I love it! Purple is my favourite because it’s super bright and positive. What’s you favourite colour?

Thanks to my Juiceplus berry capsules my nails are longer and stronger than ever. No more need for shellac or fake nails, so needless to say it saves me a fair bit of money on pampering; especially as this lovely nail varnish is actually from the pound shop would you believe?!

What a bargain!

New Lipstick

Hey all!

So I bought this lipstick for £1 in primark last week. It was a bit of an impulsive buy, I just grabbed it while queuing at the counter, those upscale attempts really work on me haha.

I’m not sure about the colour on me but it’s very good quality for the price.

It’s creamy but has a matte finish and goes dry so I added some Vaseline over it.

The colour stayed on for ages last night!

What do you think of the colour?

They do lots of different shades so I’ll probably be grabbing a few more of these. Proper bargain!

Kylie Jenner colour braids

Absolutely loving this look that Kylie Jenner rocked to Coachella on the weekend.

I daren’t say i would dye my hair all those colours, but it’s definitely gave me an idea for festival hair this summer… Chalk hair paint anyone??

I’m gonna grab these non-toxic ones I found, under a fiver too, winning!

I can’t say I was a fan of the fashion attire though. Oh god that jacket.. Bit too oversized for me.

What were your thoughts on the outfit?

    Liebster Award!

Thank you to Niki , Elle and Nerissa for nominating me for the Liebster Award!

It was a great birthday present and I had a lot of fun with this :)

10 Questions for you to answer-

    5 writing/blog related questions

    1. What did you write before you started blogging? (Journal, short stories, nothing…)

I wrote, and still currently write for an Online magazine called LoveThatMag

    2. Who did you first share your blog with?

I started my blog originally to post about my travels so that my friends and family could read. Now I have expanded on my categories because i’m addicted to blogging!

    3. Who do you hope reads your blog most or who do you hope doesn’t?

I want anyone who can learn from me, or that need my advice on anything whether it be for health, travels, food or how to clear your spots to read my blog

I don’t online trolls to read my blog ha.

4.How long do you typically spend creating a post from start to publish?

I’m a big fan of drafting and coming back to finish. Most of my posts are noted on my phone at the time in which they happen (travel wise) or when creativity strikes.

A lot of the time I have so many ideas that I have to pace myself and remember to post one at a time instead of 10 in one day haha.

    1. Do you secretly hope for a post to go viral? Why or why not?

Theres no secret about it really. I would love to go viral and I would love to have 1000’s of readers caring about what I post. Its always nice to feel like people are actually listening right?

Though as Spiderman so cleverly put it, with great power comes great responsibility.

    5 random questions-

    1. What piece of advice would you give your younger self?

Spend more time doing things that make you happy and less time on things or people that will be irrelevant to you in a few years

    2. What smell takes you straight back to your childhood?

The smell of candyfloss! It takes me back to the amusement parks at the Isle of Sheppey where I used to have a chalet.

    3. If you had to move today, no questions asked to another country, which would it be and why?

Australia. Because I love London but the only thing missing is the weather.

    4. If you could live in any time period (other than the present) what would it be and why?

The 70’s, because I like frilly socks and I want to be a Pink Lady.

5.If a movie were to be made about your life, what would it be called and who would play you in the movie?

Wandering Nuggs. I would play myself of course (shot at fame right there).
