Seasoned Steak & sweet potato chips

Date night dinner oh yes.

   Ingredients for 2 people

2 x steak of your choice (I have sirloin Liam has rump)

approx. 5 sweet potatoes

1/2 pack of tomatoes

1 x long stem broccoli

1 x pack of asparagus.

(The amount can vary depending on how much you like veg!)

Preparation

Pre heat the oven, gas mark 6

wash the potatoes, cut off the ends and then cut into chunky chips
Season with olive oil, salt, pepper & paprika

Pop into the oven for 20 minutes
While you wait…

Chop the veg but dont forget to wash it first!
Preheat grill on medium heat
Season the steak: I use olive oil, aromat, herbs, salt, pepper
Half way through, take out the chips and turn them all over
Pop the steaks in the grill for 10 minutes, turning over half way through

Steam the veg
Tip: a super fast way to steam veg is by adding 2 tablespoons of water to the bowl of veg and popping it in the microwave.

Put the greens in for 3 minutes and add the tomatoes for the last minute.

Now for the gravy baby!

I’m sure I don’t have to tell you how to make gravy.. but add a drop of balsamic vinegar for a delicious end taste.

Dinner is served…

Bon Appetit!

Enjoy date night and throw on a movie to finish

  1. Looks nice! Sweet potatoes are called kumara in NZ and they seem to have three types…all of which make a nice and healthy alternative to spuds for a change…although I quite like to mash them with potatoes. I might try chipping them after reading how easy it is now though! šŸ˜€
